I love to read the newspaper
Every day when I wake up one of the first things that sticks in my head is always the newspaper. I was able to get the card. I operated this way for over 40 years. The paper I are known. The more I think that the Internet could be for me to touch or feel. Or, once I have not I had to wait for any upload or download or sideloading (hey a new word) of information.
I confess – I see the sports pages. E 'in the sunshine. I admit it. Something is missing for me if you do not get to see the sports pages. Who hit home runs? Who scored the most hits on the day before? How did Pujols or Manny do? Pitchers who won? Who drove racing? As Yankees players do? Yeah like that more. RBIs.If are outside the baseball season, it's off to the side of transaction paper. Who signed and who has released? (I almost always feel bad when I see the name of a player that I liked, but I left their team). Any trades possible who loses? The lives of people in motion. While this part of the paper announced transactions, is really about changing lives places these players leave. And where move on. Sometimes this is all you need as a new town for a few players to excel as Paul O'Neill and Roger Maris to name two great Yankee acquisitions.
During the season I see my kids, and how do they do? Love those Yankees Statistics – I always check them out. Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Giambi and Gary Sheffield are children whose statistics are considered now. In the old days it was Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Don Mattingly, Reggie Jackson, Roger Maris and Thurman Munson. I am omitting a few. Please forgive me.
When I am done with the statistics you turn the pages of any good story. I have no game plan for this research. I usually caught somewhere title and go from there. Lately I've noticed that when I see an article by a writer I do not care because I spit on paper. No I'm just kidding.
I read the newspaper like you're about to get a test. I read alone, without interruption, sitting in my car or my kitchen table. With a cup of coffee or tea at my I undertake the next paper. I think I could run into that might ask me a question about the Yankees that I know. I know better. I remember when I traveled in Europe in the early 70 years. I must get to the International Herald for their page one or two sports sections. Reggie Jackson had an impressive first half of the season. It seemed that every day is hit another homer for the Athletics. I could not wait to see in the paper, if you hit another one.The New York Times, The Newark Star Ledger, the record Bergen, USA Today and The News Newark in the past has been my companions in the morning. I do not have any other way.
I hope you get as much enjoyment out of your paper as I go mine. I also read the first page and do the crossword. Sometimes.
